Making digital identity relevent to the mainstream
When will my dad care? Is the airport/national ID card the only example? What about online? When do students start caring about reputation? How long before the majority of people are cleaning up their slime trails? Are blogs and social networks going to be the only published identities on the web?

i-cards
[suggested by PaulTrevithick]: To seed a discusion, I propose that the concept of an i-card (placeholder term) can be a powerful unifying concept for the user-centric identity community. By i-card I mean a concept that (a) may be implemented by multiple protocols (b) moves beyond static claim data (c) may include bidirectional information flows, (d) and of course runs on any platform. Armed with such a definition, Microsoft's InfoCard-codenamed technology can be thought of as a specific kind of an i-card.

Open-Source Identity Selector
Some companies, including Microsoft, have been discussing the potential creation of an open-source identity selector (OSIS) that is intended to be similar to Microsoft's InfoCard but runs on non-Windows platforms. We are planning to meet in person on open space day to discuss next steps; please feel free to join us.

Higgins
What precisely is this open source identity framework? Who rund it -- end users? I-brokers? Websites? Enterprises? How does it enable user-centric identity? How will it interoperate with InfoCard/Cardspace/i-cards, i-names, Yadis, OpenID, etc.?

i-names, i-brokers, and i-services
The Identity Mashup event on Tuesday night will mark the opening of the XDI.org global registry service for i-name digital addresses and the first operating network of XDI.org accredited i-brokers offering Yadis i-services. A few of the proposed discussion topics are: What are the implications of this new user-centric identity services model? How fast and how large will the i-broker network grow? What i-services are being offered, and what new ones are in highest demand? How will i-names and i-services fit with Higgins and Cardspace? How will it also support URL-based digital addresses?

Identity Commons Reputation Working Group
This is one of the proposed Identity Commons 2.0 working groups, and this open space session will be a gathering of those interested in the very practical goal of building the first open, interoperable reputation network that can: a) operate at Internet scale, and b) provide immediate functional benefits to i-brokers and users of i-names or personal URLs.

Identity Commons 2.0
This Open Space session is the formative event for the second-generation organization that can serve as a "shared umbrella" for cooperative efforts to design/specify/implement/operate user-centric identity infrastructure. This is a hybrid between the IETF working group model and the Creative Commons shared agreement models. See the Identity Commons Two topics on the Identity Commons wiki for more background.
